Open tenders that need a carbon reduction plan

Central government departments, their agencies and public bodies ask for a carbon reduction plan on contracts worth more than £5 million a year (PPN 006), and NHS England asks for one on its largest procurements and on all new frameworks.

The firms bidding for these will need a carbon reduction plan, and may need help with it. Each tender says why it is here and links to its official notice.

How we choose them

  • A tender is here if its notice mentions a carbon reduction plan, PPN 006 or a net zero commitment, from any buyer.
  • Or if the buyer is UK central government or the NHS and the published value is £5 million a year or more: the value divided by the contract length where the notice gives one, counting extensions. Where it does not, we assume four years, so it takes £20 million in all.
  • Or if it is a new NHS framework or dynamic market, by its title.
  • We tell the buyer type from its name, so we will miss some bodies. Published values usually leave out VAT and PPN 006 counts VAT, so a contract just under the line can be missed. Scottish, Welsh and Northern Ireland government bodies set their own rules and are only here if the notice asks.

So treat this as a list worth checking, not a ruling: open the notice and its documents to see exactly what the buyer asks for. Spotted one that should not be here? Tell us at hello@tender-radar.co.uk.

This list on your website, or by email

If your firm is listed in our directory for carbon reduction plans, you can show this list on your own website, free. It sits in a frame served from our site, so it stays up to date by itself and cannot affect the rest of your page, with a line under it saying it comes from Tender Radar. Ask us for your code.

Listed firms can also have it emailed once a week, on Mondays: the link to sign up is in the email we send when your listing goes live. Not listed yet? See the directory; listing is free.
