Data status
8 of 9 sources working; Sell2Wales is down at source
Measured from the morning run, not typed in. Tender Radar reads each source every weekday morning and records every notice it receives; a source that delivers nothing for five days is shown as down. This page is rebuilt every ten minutes.

How the data is handled
The rules behind every figure on the site
- One contract, one count. Contracts are counted by award notice. A framework that names twenty suppliers is one contract, not twenty, which is why our totals are lower than a count of supplier rows.
- Values as published. A value is the figure the buyer published. Framework values are ceilings, not money spent, and are never added together as spend. Where no value was published we say “not stated” rather than guess.
- Renewals from the notice itself. A contract is “coming up for renewal” when the end date in its own award notice falls in the window. We do not estimate end dates.
- One organisation, one page. Buyers and suppliers publish under many spellings. Names are matched after normalising punctuation and legal suffixes, and by Companies House number where one is published; uncertain pairs go to a person to check.
- Size and type as declared. SME and voluntary sector status are what the supplier declared on its award notices, and are shown only when every declaration in the two years up to its latest one agrees; a supplier's own certification on Tender Radar takes precedence. Charities are matched to the charity registers.
- AI kept apart from the facts. AI is used to score how well a notice fits a customer and to write short briefings. It never changes a contract record, a figure or a date: those come from the published notices.
What each portal covers, and what it misses, is set out on where the data comes from. Our published figures and their counting rules are on research and figures. Notice and award data is published under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
