What Constructionline is
Constructionline is a pre-qualification register for construction, building maintenance and facilities management suppliers. It began as a government department, was sold by Capita in 2018, and is now run by Once For All Limited. You answer a standard set of questions once, upload your evidence and Constructionline checks it, so buyers can see you have been verified instead of sending you the same questionnaire again.

The membership levels
There is an entry-level Associate membership and four verified levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. All four verified levels include an SSIP health and safety certificate from Once For All Health & Safety (formerly Acclaim). Silver adds checks on your corporate and professional standing. Gold meets the Build UK Common Assessment Standard through a desktop check and adds Building Safety Act assessments. Platinum is Gold plus a one-day audit at your premises, and you pass Gold first.
Check what your clients ask for before you buy. If a tender or main contractor wants the Common Assessment Standard you need Gold; if it wants a site-based audit, Platinum.
What it costs and how long it takes
Prices depend on your annual turnover and are shown on the Constructionline website once you choose a turnover band. They start from £399 a year plus VAT, new members pay a one-off joining fee, and a slightly lower price applies if you already hold SSIP through another scheme.
Each submission can take up to 10 working days to assess, so start well before a tender deadline. Membership renews automatically each year and is invoiced 30 days before it expires.
Keeping your membership live
Each verified item, such as an insurance certificate or a policy, has its own expiry date, usually a year from verification, and Constructionline sends a reminder 30 days before. One lapsed item can leave your profile showing as needing attention to a buyer.
If a renewal invoice is not paid within 30 days, you are moved to a free plan without verification, and buyers can no longer rely on your Constructionline status.
Getting registered
Choose your turnover band and level on the Constructionline website, answer the question set and upload evidence. Each submission can take up to 10 working days to assess. Membership renews automatically each year.

Watch out for
Buy the level your clients ask for. The Common Assessment Standard needs Gold (desktop) or Platinum (site audit); Bronze and Silver do not meet it. And an unpaid renewal drops you to a free plan without verification after 30 days.

Is Constructionline still owned by Capita?
No. Capita sold it in 2018. It is now run by Once For All Limited, part of the Once For All Group.
Which Constructionline level meets the Common Assessment Standard?
Gold, a desktop assessment, or Platinum, which adds a one-day audit at your premises. Bronze and Silver do not meet the full standard.
Does Constructionline include SSIP?
Yes. Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum all include an SSIP certificate from Once For All Health & Safety. If you already hold SSIP from another scheme, a lower price applies.
