Open (NEPO)
Also known as Open, NEPO Portal, North East Procurement Organisation.
Regional procurement body for the North East, and the route to its opportunities. NEPO's platform, Open, replaced the NEPO Portal that the twelve North East local authorities had used for over twenty years, and carries the region's opportunities and its contracts register. NEPO puts the volume at around 6,000 competitive opportunities a year.

North East councils and partner organisations across the wider public sector in the region.
Getting registered
Register free on Open, NEPO's platform, at open-uk.org. NEPO's own supplier page at nepo.org/suppliers explains the process and links across to it. An old NEPO Portal account is no longer any use: nepoportal.org does not resolve, and the platform behind it has been replaced rather than moved.
Watch out for
Two things. NEPO also runs frameworks, and being registered on Open is not the same as being on a framework. And the platform changed rather than simply relocating, so guidance written before 2024 that tells you to use the NEPO Portal, or to register through ProContract, is out of date.
